Anson returns to 5 Nations BRX Supercar with unique Mirage RX
On the back of a career-best season in the Motorsport UK British Rallycross Championship 5 Nations Trophy last year, experienced campaigner Colin Anson will race in a full Supercar campaign in 2025 with his Spencer Sport-built Mitsubishi Mirage RX.
Anson switched to the Mirage RX last season, having most recently raced a self-developed Ford KA Supercar in 5 Nations BRX events, and also appeared with an ex-Christopher Evans title-winning Opel Astra.
Having progressed his own development in the Mirage RX through 2024, Anson will return for a full campaign across England, Ireland, Wales and France in the 2025 5 Nations BRX season. Last year he finished sixth in the standings and twice achieved a best finish of fourth at Lydden Hill and Pembrey, but was unfortunately forced out of the final rounds of the season at Lydden Hill following an incident at the start of the Saturday night Supercar final.
The Mirage RX had previously been raced by rally ace James Grint, and six-time British Rallycross Champion Julian Godfrey, the latter claiming three outright 5 Nations BRX victories with the machine.
Colin Anson:
“I had a really good time last year with the Mirage, I learned a lot and I’m excited to get going again this season. The car is in pieces at the moment, it takes a lot of time to get everything prepared. To say we’re a small team is an understatement, at events it’s just my wife and I running the car, so to take on some huge teams with big budgets is a big challenge, and part of the fun. The plan is to do as much of the championship as possible, ideally the whole season, and to continue enjoying racing one of these amazing Supercars – you simply cannot beat it!”
