5 Nations BRX Supercar to join legendary French Rallycross Loheac event in 2025
- 5 Nations BRX Supercar heads to biggest rallycross event on the planet
- Supercar competitors to race in front of 50,000 spectators in France
- 2025 Supercar calendar includes events in England, Wales, Ireland and France
The headline Supercar category in the Motorsport UK British Rallycross Championship 5 Nations Trophy will compete alongside the French Rallycross Championship at the legendary Loheac Circuit in Northern France this August (29-31).
5 Nations BRX organisers have worked hard to add a halo European round into the 2025 calendar, sitting alongside existing rounds in England, Wales and Ireland.
The annual Loheac weekend, traditionally a French Rallycross Championship event but most famous for being part of the World Rallycross Championship between 2014 and 2019, is arguably the biggest rallycross event in the world.
Such is a popularity of the Loheac weekend that it attracts headline names every year. In the last two seasons, drivers like Johan Kristoffersson, Niclas Gronholm, Sebastien Loeb and Andreas Bakkerud have competed in the French Rallycross Championship at Loheac.
Now, 5 Nations BRX Supercar runners will compete alongside French RX competitors and other special guests in the single-header points-scoring round, in front of 50 thousand spectators during the 49th edition of the Loheac RX weekend, strengthening a bond between 5 Nations BRX Promotor Lydden Hill Race Circuit and the Loheac (led by Patrick Germain) in addition to the Loheac and Lydden Legend Festival weekends.
5 Nations BRX is no stranger to racing on French soil, with rounds of the 2022 and 2023 seasons being run as part of the French Rallycross Championship at Dreux.
Drew Furlong, 5 Nations BRX:
“As we stated when we announced the 2025 calendar at the end of last year, a huge amount of work has gone in to delivering a calendar that is attractive to competitors. We analysed all options outside of the mainland UK, and Loheac is the standout event to join for the Supercar category. Every rallycross fan in the world will be familiar with Loheac in some capacity, and if they are not, a quick search on YouTube will tell you everything you need to know. This is a legendary circuit with such a huge passion for rallycross, and it is a real honour for 5 Nations BRX Supercar to join the Loheac weekend. We give huge thanks to Patrick Germain, the Loheac organising committee and FFSA for helping us make this happen, we are sure it is going to be a very special weekend, and an amazing experience for the 5 Nations BRX Supercar competitors.”
Patrick Germain, Loheac RX:
"We have a deep connection with British Rallycross and Pat Doran, a relationship we've nurtured over the past 25 years. The creation of the Lohéac Legends Festival and the Lydden Legend Festival has only strengthened this bond. When Pat suggested that we incorporate the Supercar category of the British Championship into our 2025 plans, we didn't hesitate. After thorough discussions with the FFSA and other stakeholders, we concluded that this collaboration would only enhance the competitive standard of our sport."
