All-Electric Electro Rallycross Joins 2021 5 Nations BRX
Dedicated races for all-electric class
Regulations are with Motorsport UK for final approval for electric championship
Elimen Racing prepared electric Fiat 500s to race at three rounds in 2021
Not only is the Motorsport UK British Rallycross Championship 5 Nations Trophy Presented by Cooper Tires open to electric Supercars, there is also a new all-electric class available for the coming season.
Motorsport UK has been working with Electro Rallycross to finalise the regulations for battery electric vehicles complying with the Motorsport UK Yearbook. The first team to commit to the series is Elimen Racing which is aiming to field a minimum of five cars with a further three available for hire.
The Elimen Racing Fiat 500e, developed for rallycross, was first seen at Lydden Hill for a test in 2018. The compact electric rocket has a 0-60 mph of seven seconds, a top speed of 85mph and 200 Nm torque which makes it ideally suited to rallycross and those gripping launches.
For 2021, the Electro Championship will feature four rounds, all at Lydden Hill with the first and second rounds taking place in May and the final round in November.
