British Rallycross Supercar Driver takes on 'Power Maxed' Swifts at Blyton
Having taken a championship Suzuki Swift for a spin at one of the open days hosted by Peter Gwynne Motorsport, recent returnee to Rallycross, Supercar driver Mark Flaherty, will join the Power Maxed Swift Sport class for the final round at Blyton Park near Scunthorpe on Sunday 30th November.
Previously seen at the final two rounds of the British Rallycross Championship behind the wheel of Pat Doran’s 600bhp Citroen DS3, Flaherty follows in the footsteps of a number of other Supercar drivers such as Timmy Hansen, Liam Doran, Steve Hill and Pat Doran who have all taken on this ultra-competitive one-make class where precision is more important than power.
The property developer from Wokingham will comprise the Flaherty Family Swift Team, lining up alongside son Mitchel, a newcomer to the sport who made his debut in the Swifts at Lydden Hill in August. Mark joked ‘I am looking forward to showing Mitchel how it’s done!’
Flaherty senior will take charge of the SH Racing Swift owned by fellow Supercar driver Steve Harris which was previously driven by Pat Doran at Croft with the charity branding 'Stand up to Cancer’ whilst Mitchel will return piloting the LD Motorsport Swift of Monster Energy Athlete and Double X Games gold medalist Liam Doran who will be unable to attend due to competing in the FIA World Rallycross Championship in Argentina the same day.
Entry to the event is free of charge to all spectators so why not come along and see how he gets on. Action starts on track at 9 am.
