British RX 2018 Calendar and Information Revealed
The 2018 Toyo Tires MSA British Rallycross Championship will include nine events run over eight weekends, starting and finishing at Silverstone’s new rallycross circuit.
The calendar has a new look for 2018, but will continue to visit traditional venues Lydden Hill, Pembrey Circuit and Croft Circuit for two weekends each. Find the full calendar below.
The first round on March 17 will use Silverstone in full World Championship configuration including the Wing paddock and World RX start line. Round nine will switch to the ‘national’ layout with the paddock and start line based in the Stowe complex.
The Championship will continue to be televised on BT Sport and Motorsport TV, as well as the non-British broadcasters currently taking British RX. Online coverage through the British RX channels for all classes has been a success in 2017 and will be repeated in 2018. All content will remain available on YouTube as an easy to access archive that is available to everyone.
The Hot Hatch Rallycross Championship will not form part of British RX events in 2018. Opportunities for National B licence holders to race at British RX events remain in Swift Sport, BMW Mini, RX150 and Retro Rallycross. All other championships will be maintained and Super1600 will share track time with Supernational in 2018.
“I’m delighted that for the second year running we are in a position to release information about next season at this stage of the year. The calendar has a fresh new look which I’m really pleased with, we have a good mix of rounds and the availability of Silverstone is significant for British RX. All competitors and fans should be positive about this opportunity,” said Championship Manager, Tim Whittington.
