British RX and BTCC champs to swap cars at Lydden Hill
Newly crowned Toyo Tires MSA British Rallycross Champion Nathan Heathcote will trade seats with 2017 MSA British Touring Car Champion Ash Sutton at Lydden Hill next Saturday (November 4).
The two drivers will demonstrate their own title-winning cars at Lydden's MotorMania event before swapping seats and taking part in a demo race, before the day is concluded with a firework display.
Heathcote secured the British RX title at the final round last weekend, driving a 600 horsepower LD Motorsports Citroen DS3 Supercar to Championship glory in a nail-biting finish.
Ash Sutton won the BTCC title at the Championship’s season finale, at Brand Hatch, in another nail-biting encounter. While Sutton will get his first taste of a rallycross Supercar at Lydden Hill, he will vacate his Subaru Levorg for British RX Champion Heathcote. Sutton drivers for Team BMR in the BTCC, owned by Heathcote’s British RX team mate, Warren Scott.
MSA British Superkarts, Norasport British Supermoto, sidecars, hot rods, and drifting displays will also take on-track at Lydden Hill in a packed afternoon of action, where public track time will also be available. Visit the Lydden Hill website for details.
