Exciting times ahead for XtremeRX and Craig Lomax.
XtremeRX and Driver Craig Lomax (Leeds), are now looking forward to the end of the month where they will return to the Hot Hatch class in the 2014 British Rallycross Championship. In 2013 they were so close to winning the title, but due to a gearbox failure at Croft in the Final round, missed out on the championship by three points and return this year determined to make amends.
The first round of the Championship for 2014 is fast approaching, and the new Citroen Saxo is ready for action at Rd 1 of the British Rallycross Championship at Lydden Hill on March 29th and 30th.
For 2014 the team have developed a new 16v engine, after using an 8v for the last two years in such a technical controlled class, and this was the teams focus for increasing performance. Working with new team partners, Impulse Engine Developments and Milltek Sports Exhausts they are confident they have developed a reliable and powerful unit to replace the old unit.
XtremeRX: Team Owner and Driver Craig Lomax said "We are so excited for 2014, in the last two years we have got the car handling great, but we have just lacked that bit of something, were hoping that the new engine will give us that little bit more, and with a high quality entry in the class for 2014, it looks like it’s going to be an exciting year.”
Milltek Sports Exhausts have been welcomed into the team for this year, in a relationship that developed from Touring Car Driver and owner Shaun Hollamby driving the Team Geriatric BMW Mini at the 2013 British Rallycross MSA Grand Prix, where Hollamby loved the exciting racing and very close competition.
The team are also delighted to confirm returning sponsors BAXI boilers who are looking forward to having Team Extreme Racing at their home event In Holland, the new for 2014 British Rallycross Championship Round at Valkenswaard in Rd 2.
D3 Office Supplies (Hull) have also been added as a Team supporter, and will be providing custom branded teamwear for the 2014 season.
Worldwide Motorsport giant Lucas Oils have also returned after a successful debut in 2013, and are looking forward to the Class rivalry with another Lucas Oils Backed Driver, none other than 2013 BMW Mini Rallycross Champion, Tony Lynch who is returning to the Hot Hatch class with a Unique BMW Mini, to try and reclaim his crown against all the young new Challengers.
Lomax added “I can’t wait to try and Beat Tony this year, some of Tony’s racing in the past was legendary, and we all can’t wait to race him such is his standing in Rallycross. I'm pretty confident that our new car will be strong enough to compete with his newer BMW Mini.”
