Langmaid graduates to 5 Nations BRX Supercar for 2025
Former Motorsport UK Junior Rallycross Champion Max Langmaid will graduate to the highest level of domestic rallycross by competing in the Motorsport UK British Rallycross Championship 5 Nations Trophy Supercar division in 2025.
Langmaid will follow in the footsteps of star names like current British and European Rallycross Champion Patrick O’Donovan, X Games Gold Medalist Liam Doran, World Rallycross Championship podium-finisher Andrew Jordan and World Rallycross Championship title-contender Kevin Hansen as using Junior rallycross as a stepping stone to the highest level in the discipline.
The Devon driver claimed the Junior title in 2021, before defending the crown the following season in the single-specification Suzuki Swift category. Thereafter Langmaid moved to race a four-wheel-drive BMW Mini in the ALL4 category and claimed the class crown in both 2023 and 2024.
With his family-run team, Langmaid will now compete against multiple race-winners and former champions in 5 Nations BRX Supercar with the same Production-based BMW Mini he has campaigned in recent season, with developments made over the winter months validated in a test at Pembrey Circuit recently.
Langmaid will make his Supercar bow in the opening rounds of the campaign at Lydden Hill on Easter Bank Holiday Weekend (April 19 / 21).
Max Langmaid:
“It has always been a dream of mine since I first stepped into the British Rallycross paddock to race in Supercar, and we’re taking the leap of faith this year. Initially, it felt unachievable to even attempt this. However, having a quiet year last year has given us a major opportunity to make that dream come true. We have some great sponsors on board and we all know it's not going to be an easy year. It’s going to be hard knowing we won't be competitive against the top cars, but it's going to be an amazing development year for me and I’m sure we will have a lot of fun.”
