Lomax ready for 2015 British Rallycross challenge
On the back of a successful 2014 which saw the Pontefract based British Rallycross team secure the British Hot Hatch title in near faultless form, they were also awarded the best promoted team in British Rallycross at the annual awards ceremony in early January.
Craig and his XtremeRX team are relishing the new challenges ahead of them in 2015. This year sees them taking on a new class, in the shape of Super1600 as well as a brand new car as well, a Citroen C2R2.
Couple with that is the possibility of selected European outings and the team has an air of excitement about it.
However the transition to Super1600 hasn't been a smooth one and the team have had to overcome the problems and demands of building a car to suit Craig's specific needs.
Speaking this week Craig said "We have had a steep learning curve over the closed season. Before we could just go and get a part off the shelf, now we have to plan and fabricate each and every part, which is something that takes time. It's important for us to get everything right as in time we want to develop a European winning car, we are already planning for the 2016 season. We have been lucky enough to have Milltek come on board and develop a bespoke exhaust system, with this kind of support the car should be in top condition"
New Sponsors for 2015
Power Maxed, Torq Racewear and Sonic Fire and Security join returning backers Evolution Works, S&C Plummbing, d3 Office Group, Baxi Avanta, Lucas Oils, Impulse Performance and Milltek Systems.
The first challenge is now on and that is to get the car to the start line at Croft for Round 1 of the MSA British Rallycross Championship in association with the Shannon Group.
