Lyddens future in our hands - time to help
For many years the battle for development and progress at Lydden Hill, the home of British Rallycross has been for want of a better expression, been start/stop with the Circuit management often hindered in their quest to progress.
That has now changed with plans submitted to Dover council for a massive overhaul of the circuit, and this is were YOU come in.
The start/stop nature over the years is in no way a reflection of the team and management at Lydden, as they have spent many hours, and made big investments to try to improve the facilities there.
Locally, there ARE a good number of Lydden Hill supporters but there have been objections in the past too that have slowed progress, but now the chance is here for us all to voice our support.
It does not matter if you live on the A2 in Kent, or Andover or Austria or Australia, this is your chance to put your case forward to the local Dover District Council as to why this next phase in Lydden Hills development is critical.
Its not just about Rallycross, be it British or the FIA World Rallycross – its about the benefits that Lydden Hill as a venue brings in terms of economy to the local area when events are taking place.
Improvements will include a new access road into the site via the existing unused entrance in Geddinge Lane from the A2, new Hospitality and spectator grandstand buildings, new scrutineering and competitor facilities building, high tech engineering units for race industry related uses and a new gatehouse building, plus additional uses of the Circuit when racing is not taking place including use as a driver training school facility, corporate and track ‘gift’days and non-race events such as car shows and charity events.
It does not matter if you only visit Lydden once a year, or only watch events online, your opinion and voice needs to be heard and will assist in proving that the venue has a value and benefit to the local area and the residents.
It is easy to access and tell Dover District council the importance of this intention to improve the venue.

The more support for this application we can get submitted to Dover District Council, the more likely Planning Committee Members are to listen.
Unfortunately previous experience shows those who object to the Circuit in general are only too quick to send in objections, whereas those who support do
not realize the importance of sending the Council their supporting views.
For example, a refused application had 40 objections against only 1 letter of support, whereas our request for additional time for the 2014 World Rallycross Championships was approved following the receipt of more than 100
letters and comments of support sent in by our supporters, against the 40 or so objections.
This shows that your support really does make a difference.
