Mini RX ace Bennett confirms 5 Nations BRX programme
Multiple Motorsport UK British Rallycross Championship 5 Nations Trophy event-winner Oliver Bennett will get his 2025 season underway with the Xite Energy Racing team’s unique Mini RX Supercar at Lydden Hill on Easter Weekend [April 19 – 21].
Bennett is a three-time Supercar winner in 5 Nations BRX events, and most recently claimed top honours in the final round of the 2024 campaign at Lydden Hill while setting a new lap record on the circuit that was significantly revised during the 2022 season.
Former FIA World Rallycross Championship and Nitro Rallycross Championship driver Bennett is a fan favourite, popular for his committed driving style. The Bristol-based driver made his rallycross bow in the 2017 season with an OlsbergsMSE-built Ford Fiesta and was immediately a contender for podiums, using previous motocross and stage rally experience.
The Xite Racing Team debuted the Mini RX in 2018 and has raced the car across the world. The squad will compete in a programme of 5 Nations BRX events this season.
Oliver Bennett:
“I love Lydden Hill, it’s where I first drove a rallycross Supercar and it’s a special place to race. The changes made to the track a couple of years ago really suit me, especially needing to be much more sendy now in the first corner, and I can’t wait to get back in the car. It was great to win last time out and more so with the pace we had, so I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do on Easter Weekend. Hopefully the weather is good so the fans can really see rallycross at its best.”
