Podium finishes all round for Bellerby Motorsport
For British Rallycross competitors and spectators, to attend an event and not see any of the Bellerby Family would be unheard of. With Dad Dave, daughters Drew and Paige they have in 2015 provided entertainment in three different classes of the series. It is wonderful to see, and at Croft last weekend it was a mixed event for the Yorkshire based trio.
Former five time British Rallycross Champion Dave Bellerby was back in action at Croft to compete in the RX150 Championship against the likes of Andreas Bakkerud, FIA World Rallycross star, Ryan Champion a former British Rally Champion and current RX150 Champion Marc Scott who was battling Chrissy Palmer for this years title.
Bellerby managed to secure a good third position overall after a hard battle in the final and said at the finish “What a brilliant way to end the season. I always love to get back behind the wheel in Rallycross and to compete against drivers such as Andreas and Ryan is a huge pleasure as well as Marc and Chrissy through the year. The buggy is great fun but hard work. The British Rallycross Championship is going from strength to strength and Bellerby Motorsport are proud to be a part of it. Roll on 2016 where we will be back in action.”
2010 Junior Champion Paige Bellerby competing in her SuperNational, 270bhp Lotus Exige secured two heat wins and a second overall, placing her on the front row of the grid for the A final. After a storming start off the line and first into the first corner, she lead the race from beginning to end. Her delight was natural at the finish and she added
“I am absolutely over the moon with this result, becoming the first female to win a super-national A final is so overwhelming to believe. This season has been full of lots of ups and downs; we knew this year wasn’t going to be easy as there have been many talented drivers competing in this class and the standard of competition has been so high. I can’t thank my team and all my sponsors enough for the support and encouragement I have received. I will be back next year competing in the Super-national class, Lotus Exige.”
