Sellar targets top results with full 5 Nations BRX Volkswagen Polo assault
Experienced circuit racer and rallycross driver Mike Sellar has committed to a full programme of Motorsport UK British Rallycross Championship 5 Nations Trophy events in 2025, driving the Volkswagen Polo he first raced last season.
Sellar returned to rallycross after almost a decade away in 2020, racing a Hansen Motorsport-built Citroen DS3 to make his Supercar bow. Having been a regular in 5 Nations BRX events with the ex-Alexander Hvaal machine, Sellar switched to an ex-Kristofferson Motorsport Volkswagen Polo for the 2024 season.
Having contested a selected programme with the car last year and been a regular final qualifier, the Kent-based driver had committed to a full programme in the Polo, previously campaigned by Czech Republic driver Ales Fucik in the FIA European Rallycross Championship.
The opening rounds of the 11-round of 5 Nations BRX Supercar season take place at Lydden Hill on Easter Weekend (April 19 & 21).
Mike Sellar:
“We had a bit of a quiet year last season, there was a lot to learn with the car, and I had a lot of other commitments away from rallycross too. The plan is to do the full season this year. I’m especially looking forward to racing in Loheac, that is an amazing event, and I always enjoy going to Mondello too. It’s good to be starting the season at Lydden where the Polo went well at the end of last season, I’m still learning to drive the car but I’m hopefully we can climb up the order once I’m more on top of it this year.”
