Supercar and Junior 5 Nations BRX classes join new Lydden Legend Festival
The Supercar and Junior categories from the Motorsport UK British Rallycross Championship 5 Nations Trophy will join the roster at the brand-new Lydden Legend Festival next July (20-21).
The recently-announced Lydden Legend Festival will focus on celebrating the glory of period rallycross and rally machinery, following in the footsteps of the hugely-successful Loheac Legend Festival held earlier this year in France. Period car and driver announcements are set to begin in the coming days.
Joining the diverse range of period classes in action at the world’s oldest rallycross circuit next summer, the Supercar and Junior divisions will provide a competitive points-scoring element to the Festival – the contemporary Supercars competing in a double-header weekend, while the new showcase event for rallycross and Lydden Hill will be utilised to give the stars of the future in the Motorsport UK Junior Rallycross Championship – racing single-specification Suzuki Swifts – another exciting new platform on which to compete, in a single-header round.
The Lydden Legend Festival will begin on Friday July 19 with a Welcome Gala, following media activities, before the celebrations of this amazing discipline continue throughout the weekend.
The full 5 Nations BRX calendar will be revealed at 0900 on Tuesday, December 5.

Hannah Bennett, Managing Director, Lydden Hill Race Circuit:
“It’s the perfect fit that our brand-new rallycross event will include the headline Supercar category from 5 Nations BRX. The Supercars put on such a show in the World Championship event with us back in July this year that we just had to include them as part of the Lydden Legend Festival. As the class is such an important part of rallycross in the UK, its only right that there is some action from it at what will be a proper festival weekend for rallycross. And to have the Juniors is also important, to help showcase the great collection of young talent we have here in the UK. Tickets are now on sale, and we will very soon start announcing period cars and drivers for the event.”
Drew Furlong, 5 Nations BRX Championship Manager:
"Revealing that our Supercar and Junior classes will join the Lydden Legend Festival is just the first stage of our 2024 calendar announcement, with the full schedule being released at 0900 tomorrow (Tuesday December 5). The Lydden Legend Festival is expected to be one of the highlights of the rallycross year, anywhere, so it is fantastic to be able to showcase 5 Nations BRX on such a weekend. We know that the Supercar and Junior drivers always provide brilliant racing, and it’s great to be able to give even more track time to our rising young stars.”
