Supernational ranks grow with Lee Keeler returning to 5 Nations BRX
Keeler brings Team HARD Racing-backed Astra VXR to 5 Nations
Supernational interest reaches double figures
Kent racer Lee Keeler has confirmed his move to compete in the Motorsport UK British Rallycross Championship 5 Nations Trophy Presented by Cooper Tires this season. A relative newcomer to rallycross, Lee joined BRX in 2017, but was forced to switch to the Clubmans championship when BRX replaced its production class with Supernational.
Finishing second in BTRDA in 2019 in a Citroen Saxo, Lee spent last season primarily looking for the best car with which to return to BRX and has settled on a 2.0 Vauxhall Astra VXR. The car has been built with the hard work of main partner for 2021 MWH Motorsport and Gremlin Motorsport, who have also come onboard this year, and is backed by BTCC team Team HARD and Xite Energy.
“We know it will be tough as there are some very experienced drivers in that class and also with an untried and tested car,” said Lee. “But as always, we will do our best to be competitive as soon as possible. The car is still in build mode, but we are confident that the end is in sight and will have a release of the new car soon. I can’t wait to get back out on track.”
