The popularity of the one-make Swift Sport Rallycross Championship launched in 2010 has encouraged past champions back to the sport and also new drivers to start their journey into Motorsport which has inspired the Peter Gwynne Motorsport Team to launch the new 'Swift Super Series' for 2014.
Consisting of three stand-alone classes covering Rallycross, Racing and Rallying, the series will prove the versatility of the Suzuki Swift and enable drivers to maximise the use of these popular pocket rockets allowing drivers to easily swap from one discipline to another. Whilst the PGM hire Swifts are already seen out on the rally stages, creating their own class as with rallycross means with minimum modifications competitive times and results in each discipline can be achieved.
The New Swift Sport Rally Challenge will run with the MSA English Rally Championship whilst the Swift Sport Race Challenge will feature with the BRSCC EuroSaloons.
Swift Rallycross Championship Organiser Peter Gwynne commented 'The close racing we have seen in the rallycross has really delivered our aim to highlight driver talent. We want to now take this to different disciplines to give drivers the chance to get the most out of their cars and the opportunity to try different forms of Motorsport.
We looked at a number of options for offering more seat-time with one car and decided upon a stand alone class in each discipline to enable drivers to focus on just one or try all three!'
It also allows Swift owners the opportunity to hire their cars out for other disciplines to fund their own racing if budgets are limited.
For anyone tempted to try one of the classes without the initial investment, Peter Gwynne Motorsport have hire cars available for single events or arrive & drive season hire.
